Summary:
The BBSI Risk Consultant (RC), in collaboration with a Business Unit (BU), provides consultative support on human capital / management issues to a broad array of clients.
The primary objective of the RC and BU is to maximize business owner's investment in their human capital through establishment of risk/safety best practices.
The RC partners with clients to educate and influence them on promotion of proactive risk management cultures, focusing on risk mitigation, occupational health, and behavior-based safety.
The RC stewards the client injury management process, including but not limited to injury investigation, injured employee (IE) status management, and return-to-work program implementation.
The RC continually monitors risk/safety practices for optimum program management and results.

The Risk Consultant role provides leadership to our business-owner clients and our internal team of experts.
This position is based in Bend with frequent travel throughout Central and Southern Oregon.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
This position reports directly to the Area Manager, with work responsibilities to the branch Business Partner/business unit and the Corporate Director of Risk Management.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Continually assess client risk, championing a proactive risk management culture Proactively develop and execute risk management and risk mitigation plans for each client Develop holistic solutions, maximizing results for stakeholders Build trusted advisor relationships with business owners, clients, and co-workers Participate in new business development including multi-disciplinary assessment of occupational risk, business culture, financial strength, and human capital of prospective clients Self-directed continuing professional development Other duties and responsibilities as assignedCORE TRAITS/COMPETENCIES:

Proven ability to change culture and champion risk management causes Understanding of occupational health including regulatory compliance, economic impact on business Proficiency in conducting root cause analysis for risk mitigation Possession of a valid driver's license and valid automobile insurance meeting BBSI criteria Roughly 80% of time requires automobile travel within Central and Southern Oregon, with some overnights required
Qualifications:
10 years of experience in risk management, occupational health, safety, and regulatory compliance Professional safety related certification (CSP, ARM, CIH, etc.
) helpful Extensive Microsoft Office
Experience:
ability to generate and deliver presentations Bachelor's degree:
advanced degree preferred Candidate must have operations and/or consulting experience Demonstrated ability to write, develop and deliver successful presentations to individuals and groups at all levels of an organization Process Control and Continuous Improvement experience preferred Ability to benchmark, measure, analyze and articulate the value of risk management initiatives, practices, and policies.
Solid understanding of occupational health and safety principles and practices Specific risk management or risk mitigation skills include, but are not limited to:
Facility, job site and pre-construction surveys Regulatory compliance, including OSHA compliance consultations Driver safety, fleet safety, loss control, accident investigation and root cause analysis Stay at / return to work programs and implementation Safety champion identification and development Train-the-trainer occupational safety training programsABOUT US:
