Summary:
The Director of Accounting is responsible to assist in organizing and coordinating the office accounting operations and procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities Process Association invoices, requisitions and other documents for payment; obtaining approvals as necessary Process and track payment retainage, insurance claims and loan payments as applicable Ensure W-9 forms and proper insurance is obtained for all Association vendors Update and maintain both vendor and Association insurance spreadsheets and documentation Assist with the preparation and analysis of monthly Association financial reports; assist the Community Managers with the investigation of variances, and identify areas of improvement Assist with the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, reviewing and completing all assigned month-end functions Review the Homeowner Association financial reports to ensure transactions are properly recorded, reconciliations are being performed monthly, and that the accounting is following the approved HOA budgets.
Assume lead role in all internal and external audits, and in evaluating results to institute procedures and controls related to findings.
Assist Accounts Receivable with processing and mailing of monthly owner statements Maintain log of owner communication in Association software Respond to Association owner and vendor accounting inquires Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data Maintain organized, detailed files for accounting department Maintain strong communication between all staff, especially Community Managers Responsible for the training and development of accounting staff, include hiring, training, performance reviews, disciplinary action, etc.
Ensure security and confidentiality of data Train to provide back-up assistance to the CFO and Office Manager Willing to take on miscellaneous projects from CFO and Office Manager Attend appropriate department and company meetings EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Two or four-year degree in accounting preferred At least two years high volume accounting experience required At least one year of cost center accounting experience preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications, Quickbooks or similar corporate accounting software Able to provide customer service with a smile Organized, dedicated, mature, loyal, resourceful and patient Ability to learn from experiences This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
