ABOUT THE JOB The Administrative Analyst performs a wide range of specialized secretarial, analytical, technical, and administrative duties, usually of a confidential or sensitive nature, for the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office.
The Administrative Analyst will work in the Business Unit where they will perform a variety of administrative and operational assignments ranging from day to day to more complex and/or specialized in nature.
Work requires the ability to identify and initiate steps to secure required information and to make independent decisions within a limited scope for assigned projects or delegated areas of responsibility; make appropriate decisions and applying judgement to manage and prioritize duties and special projects.

Key
Responsibilities:
Participates in the development and maintenance of department budget, internal accounting systems and accounting control records; prepares and analyzes reports on accounting, accounts payable, financial, and statistical issues.
Performs contract administration and management to include RFPs, scope of work, contract review, and billing.
Assists with coordinating and preparing grant applications and managing awarded grant contracts; may serve as liaison with granting agency.
Provide information and assistance to internal and external customers.
Work effectively with the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office computer systems, including state and federal court electronic filing systems.
Heavy data entry with attention to detail, accuracy, completeness, and time management.
What You Will Bring:
Knowledge of or experience with:
Techniques in conversing with the public, in person and over the telephone.
Principles and practices of general office administration, file management, record keeping, case management and records management with minimum supervision.
General and specialized office computer systems and applications, multi-line phone systems.
Skill in:
Ability to initiate, develop and maintain office systems and customary office equipment.
Work independently, maintaining composure and confidentiality, and working effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities, with limited supervision.
Entering data and numerical information into a computer system with speed and accuracy, and maintaining manual and electronic records, files, and data bases.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration; AND three (3) years of experience; OR any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge to perform the job.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Knowledge of administrative procedures associated with law enforcement.
Experience working in the public sector or in a customer service capacity.
Necessary Special Requirements Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver's license within 30 days of hire date.
The employment offer will be contingent upon presentation of an acceptable and verifiable driver's license, pre-employment screening for criminal history, driving history, and controlled substances (NOTE:
Positive test results for marijuana use may result in rescission of a contingent offer of employment).
This screening must be completed with satisfactory findings in order for a formal offer of employment to be extended.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule when needed, including holidays, evenings, and weekends to meet the needs of the unit.
Must pass a driving record review and criminal history background.
A current driver's license and the state of origin are required.
