Resource Assistant

Performs technical review of timber sale packages to ensure they are in proper format and technically accurate. Monitors and maintains financial management of each sale contract, ensuring correct payments are made within set time frames, and credited to correct accounts for each sale. Follows established controls to assure that all timber collection of revenues and deposits such as brush disposal, sale area improvements, road maintenance, interest, etc., are billed, collected and deposited to the proper accounts. Establishes and maintains information files necessary for management of road credit accounts, KV, Salvage Sale Fund, brush disposal, erosion control, road maintenance and timber credits. Tracks all timber sale financial collections assuring they are processed in ATSA and FMMI. Issues Timber Sale Statements of Account, Bills for Collection, and various type of bonding procedures. Upon receipt of signed timber sale contract and performance bond, obtains signature of contraction officer and prepares sale folder. Performs the work relating to the input, output, review, analysis, and posting and adjustments of the accounts. Assists in opening and reviewing sealed bids for the compliance with regulations and instructions and for the determination of the high bidder. Audits, prepares, and enters contract data into TSA program. Reviews printouts and resolves any data entry errors. Audits scale records or tree measurement tally sheets and performs the processing of data. Performs the correction of scale tickets and final corrections to the edit files until all entries are valid. Performs other duties as assigned. You must possess the Basic Requirements identified below to be considered eligible for this position. Transcripts must be provided for qualifications based on education. (1) One year of specialized experience equivalent to a GS-04. Specialized experience is defined as:
Prepared grazing permits, maintained allotment and permittee files, provided timber sales support by preparing supporting forms/documentation/records, reviewed reports for accurate coding, kept fee collection records, etc. -OR Successful completion of a 4-year above high school. -OR A combination of education and experience listed above. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
