Biological Science Technician (Plants)

Grade GS-06:
One (1) year of specialized experience to at least the GS-05 grade level. Examples of specialized experience must include one or more of the following:
Performed technical processes, procedures and techniques related to seed processing and seed extraction; applied basic principles of horticulture, botany, forestry, and biology; identified species and their habitats; utilized computer software required for data input and retrieval, routine analysis, inventories, biological evaluations, and monitoring; preformed operations and maintenance of complex equipment systems common to plant propagation Grade GS-07:
One (1) year of specialized experience to at least the GS-06 grade level. Examples of specialized experience must include one or more of the following:
Grown seedlings, prepared seed/media, sowed and transplanted, fertilized, irrigated, and controlled insects and diseases; Maintained proper environmental conditions for seed beds and ensured accurate recording of chemical applications, cultural treatments and seedling inventories; Performed full range of moderately complex and recurring seed extraction techniques; maintained, calibrated, and modified complex/specialized equipment; Inventoried and ordered supplies, packaged plant material and/or seeds using accepted practices; developed reports of seed lot processed data; Independently planed, organized and performed all activities involved with the shipment of native plant material and/or seed, including data management, client contact and billing. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
