For Sale: 1941 Packard 180 in Bend, Oregon for sale in Bend, OR
Vehicle Description Located in BEND, OREGON.
This Model 180 Touring Sedan was Packard's top-of-the-line offering in 1941.
A west coast car from new with a known history, this Packard lived in San Francisco, Seattle and now Bend, Oregon.
Always maintained and sparingly used, today it shows just 54,300 miles on the odometer, which is believed to be correct.
Approximately 1,500 miles ago the current owner commissioned a full mechanical restoration of all components, including:
o Engine:
Complete rebuild including pistons, rods, bearings, valves, seats, springs, balanced crankshaft.
Head surfaced.
New head studs and cap nuts.
Exhaust manifold ceramic coated for better heat control under the hood.
o Transmission:
Completely rebuilt, including overdrive unit, new solenoid, governor switch and speedo cable.
Rebuilt Clutch.
Shift lever replaced and re-chromed.
New shift knob.
o Cooling System:
Radiator cleaned and re-cored.
New Sylphon thermostat.
Working radiator shutters.
New hoses.
New fan belt.
Water Pump rebuilt.
o Starter rebuilt (including new Bendix drive).
o Generator rebuilt.

(Stromberg AV26
new vacuum advance unit).
o Fuel Pump rebuilt
new auxiliary Electric Fuel Pump.
o Brakes rebuilt.
o New Wiring Harness (correct style custom made by Y&Z's).
o New 6 volt Optima battery
new custom cables.
o Dash gauges all rebuilt and calibrated.
Gauge faces refinished.
o Light Switches rebuilt.
Lights are bright and work well.
Turn signals work.
o Heater/Defroster re-cored.
New heater control valve.
o Windows:
All new glass and channels (except rear center window).
Replaced hydraulic system with manual cranks (no leaks!) including new window regulator mechanisms in both front and rear doors.
New window cranks and plastic knobs.
o Tires:
Coker 700R-16 wide whitewall radial tires.
This car is mechanically excellent.
The 356 cubic inch flathead straight 8 engine starts easily, runs smooth and quiet with plenty of power.
The overdrive transmission shifts smoothly and makes this Packard a pleasure to drive at freeway speeds.
Easily keeps up with (and passes) modern traffic.
An old car that MOVES! Truly the best of both worlds.
PLEASE SEE VIDEO BELOW OF ENGINE RUNNING AND CAR DRIVING.
The body received a cosmetic restoration by the previous owner.
Body is straight with excellent panel fit.
Doors close easily.
Paint is black lacquer that still shows nicely today with only minor signs of age in a few spots up close.
(I'm being really picky to even mention it.
) Chrome is all excellent and bright.
Undercarraige is clean and solid.
PLEASE SEE PHOTOS WHICH WERE JUST TAKEN FOR THIS LISTING AND SHOW CURRENT CONDITION.
Interior was also previously restored in correct gray wool broadcloth.
Gray wool carpets.
Presents nicely today as seen in the photos.
Seatbelts added.
All genuine wood garnish moldings with silver inlays are in excellent condition.
Dashboard nicely refinished.
All plastic trim inside is excellent original or new.
There is little to add.
If you are looking for a dialed-in Packard for local enjoyment or long-distance touring with the Packard Club, the Classic Car Club of America or Antique Automobile Club of America, this is a great one! Turn-key ready to drive anywhere.
Fly-in and drive it home.
It could not be restored today to this level for the offering price.
